Disable File Save Functionality in InfoPath

    Hi All,

Is there a way to disable the InfoPath file save functionality, if submitting is enabled, so that this discourages the users from saving forms instead of submitting them. I have turned off the "Open and Save" Form Options for "Save and Save As", but still get the message to save the form, when exiting the InfoPath Application. Thanks!

Hmm. I may be mistaken, but I was under the impression that once you disable Save and Save As, that you will no longer be asked about saving.

If you are using code, then after the submit, you can set the .Dirty flag to false, which tells the form that there's been no changes. This is not available in web forms though.

I think in submit options or on the close actioni there is a check box on whether to prompt for save.

    Hi Clay,

There is no check box in the submit options to prompt for save. Where would I find the close action...to look for this check box...Thanks!

If you have a close action in your rule list then there is a check box there.

In Submit options you can specify to close or not but do not get the check box. my bad.

    Hi Clay,

I do not have any rule list...just a submit button....If I specify a close form action after the submit, it exits the application completely....that is not what I am looking for...My users still need to be looking at the form after submitting any changes....

Well then unchecking the save and save as option should make it so when they close the form eventually it does not prompt them.

I would try adding a button. Label it close. Add an action the closes the form and uncheck the prompt option.  Test it and see what happens.

    I am curious.

Other than this option on the close function I do not see anywhere to change this in the UI. But I would swear on forms where I remove the save option under open and save under form options that it does not prompt anymore.
