Hi,

As I was trying to connect to a web service and entered a Sample Value I received the following error message:

"The data contained a DataSet DiffGram which has a DataSet with a different name than the associated schema indicates."

Does this make any sense to anyone?

I'm not positive, but it sounds like there's some disconnect between what it is expecting to receive back and what it is actually getting back.

It might be expecting <RootNode>...data...</RootNode> and is instead receiving <SomeOtherRootNode>...data...</SomeOtherRootNode> (i.e. different names).

The thing is, if I type in a value in the Sample Value which I know doesnt exisist in the database I get a different error message. I only get the error message above when I enter a valid value which really exist in the database table.  

Do you think its actually something wrong in the web service? I didnt actually create the web service. Someone did it for me.

Unfortunately, this is outside my scope of knowledge.... does someone else what to jump in here to help?

I have finally find the solution to this myself.

The Web Service needs to use document/literal style encoding.  InfoPath can consume only document/literal style Web services.
