    max value of two controls

How would I go about doing that?  Everytime I try to build a formula I always get a syntax error when I verified.

    It would look like this:

     node a, node b

    max(node a, node b)

So I thought I'll just create a group of the two and do a max of the group.  But then I would just NaN for the value.  I'm probably using the wrong function but I don't see anything that would work.  I've done a workaround by creating dummy controls with rules to take the value of a if a is greater then b.  Any suggestions?

Max is used on a repeating node to return the largest value from the list. Since these are two fields you need to think simpler.

In your case you would have two conditional rules a>b and b>a and then have your action, maybe set max with value of a if it is greater, etc.

That was what I ended up doing.  I thought there was a fucntion that I didn't know about that would receive similar results with less work.  Thanks for the help Clay!
