IP 2003 Button OnClick field access

Some help for an InfoPath beginner.  I've done some light VBScript, but I'm a bit lost here in InfoPath 2003.

I have a text box on a form with a path entered.  I created a button called "Open" to open that path in Explorer.  This code works:

    Set objShell = CreateObject ("WScript.Shell")

    objShell.Run "C:\Path",1,false

I want to change that it gets the path from the text box instead of having it hard-coded.  I figured that I need some code to pull the data using the XPath, but everything I've tried has come up with an error.

Can someone help a novice?  Thanks.

    Welcome to the forum.

Yah, You just need to get the syntax correct.

Here is a thread with some sample VBscript where they are assigning values.  You set the node and then use the .text to get the value.

Thanks.  I still had to play a bit with the namespaces, but in the end my: won out.  I'm still not sure why, but for now I don't mind basking in ignorance. :)
