    Infopath & RMS

    Hi,

I have a question, I hope somebody will be able to help me:

I have a simple InfoPath form, with just 10 fields. One is a file attachement field. This form has been published on SharePoint Portal Server 2007.

When someone creates a "document" using this form template, the user must attach a file (pdf, .docx, xlsx, pptx, etc..) and before submit it, restrict the permissions of this "document" using the RMS. The author selects the Reader and Change users that apply to this infopath document. when it is done, the user publish it to a SharePoint Library using the submit button.

Now, I have have the following problems:

1.- When the "document" is on the SharePoint library, nobody can see the information of the fields specified in the view of the library (if i don't restrict the "document", i can see the information).

2.- When someone opens the "document" (infopath), and this user has the Reader access (specified using RMS), the user can't open the file attached in the form, the user only can see de attachment as a picture and can't open it.

What I Want to do is to solve this two problems

    Thanks in advance!

    Jaime

    Hi Jamie.

I think in 1 you are referring to promoted properties.

For 2 I am not sure how RMS works with attachments do these docuemnts have different RMS permissions? I am not sur ethat follows from the original or not.

http://dotnetjunkies.com/WebLog/flyinggman/archive/2006/01/03/134560.aspx Her eis one link I found regarding RMS and Sharepoint

SharePoint is pretty tough to implement granular permissions. We typically store the forms in SQL instead of a library, where the permissions can be granular and dynamic based upon the contents of each document.

Hi ClayThanks for your reply.About number 1, when you are going to publish an InfoPath form template, you could specify the location where you want to save it. You can select the location to a SharePoint Site, then, there is an option that enables you to create a document library using this template, and then, specified which columns do you want to show on the SharePoint Library view. In this case, if I don't restrict the new document created (when you click in the “New” button), the values are shown in the view, but if you restrict it, the values doesn't appear.

About number 2, the attachments doesn't have any restriction. The only "document" restricted is the form that the user creates

    Thanks again for your comments

    Jaime
