    A change in computer affecting my forms

    Hi,

    I have a big problem with my form. I recently changed computer. My os also changed from Windows Vista to  Windows XP professional. However, since changing computers, my form has started acting strangely.

    First of all, some previous forms can only be opened in design mode (it says the form is a Read-Only form, although i can make changes to it). However I can't then preview the form. The error says the form has changed location and for me to publish it again. I never published it in the first place.

    The other problem I encounter with other forms is that I can design and preview them fine, but it says I have permission issues when I try to open 'Microsoft Visual studios for applications'. I don't have this problem with other forms.

    I am using the same company alias with each form saved to the same location as before. The reason I mentioned a change from Vista to XP is that a month ago I changed computer for the first time (both using Vista) and had no problems transferring my forms over.

    Has anyone encountered any problems like these before? I must stress i have not published any of these forms before despite the error displaying otherwise. At this stage I might have to just design it again, a prospect I am not too enthusiastic about.

    [Edit] I created a new form template, when I went to open 'Microsoft Visual studios for applications', the following error occured;
             "This project cannot be opened because the in-process host is not registered. Contact support for the host application"
            But I can access the code on one of the forms (though i subsequently can't preview that form), which is why I am perplexed as to why these errors occur. I don't see why a change from Vista to XP should make a difference but I'm getting suspicious.  [Edit]

    Are you working out of a local drive or network drive?

    Any time a form template is moved it needs to be republished so that is normal.

    It sounds like you also have an issue with your visual studio environment or something different that is causing the error.
