Hello,

I've a form with master detail on two views (one with a table and this other with detail). It work's fine. I use a key value (with defaut value on date/time) to filter the detail view. The key value is hidden (only present in data source).

 When i duplicate the record with copy/paste, the detail view shows the two records (the key value is also copied).

To solve my problem, i try to use position() for my default key value, but position()  returns allways 1.

Have you an idea ?

If you copy and paste it will copy all of the record not just what you see..

Are you trying to paste as a new record with a blank key value or you need to update to a correct key value?

I want to paste as a new record, :

- 1 : i copy the whole line

-  2 : i insert a new blank line

- 3 : i paste

The problem is that i paste also my key value wich is hidden in the data source. I would like to have for this key value something like a sequence in oracle. That's why i ask how to use position() function for default value.

I've found then generate-id() function which seems usefull im my case. I put it in default value of my key.
