This may take 10 seconds for a knowledgeable person but it's been driving me nuts for hours...

Using Office professional 2003. I am trying to import data from an infopath form into a database in excel so that each new repetition of the form doesn't overwrite the previous i.e. is added to the next empty row. (I've created an xml map so that each form's data is on one row in excel.) This should be possible but when I go to data/xml/xml map properties in excel the "append new data to existing xml lists" tick box is greyed over and can't be used. Anyone know why this is or have a solution ?

Hi Charles, Welcome to the forum.

You are trying to aggregate multiple form's data into one spreadsheet?

This is a common desire but typically is done using a common database.

Capture the InfoPath data into seperate records in a database and then use Excel to connect to the database and analyze the data.

You are trying to import the XML directly it sounds like but the issue would be trying to merge the multiple InfoPath forms.
