Creating Outlook Tasks from InfoPath Forms

Recently I have opted to find a solution for a feedback form using infopath and outlook task manager.

I haven't used Infopath much before and haven't really written any complex VB before- although I have a reasonable grasp on it.

I need a solution to integrate a userform which can contain attachments and submit directly into a users(editorial delegate) task manager in outlook. The task is then assigned to a editor and is later submitted through an approval process using outlook.

Could anyone please help with any explanations or examples in how it is possible to this? - Any good simple solutions appreciated, although we would like to steer clear of any new platforms/applications.

     :)

    Cheers,

    Claude

You would need an installabel, full trust form which had the code to create a task assignment.

A better solution or work around might be just to email notify the editor, via the built in InfoPath submit, and then come up with a quick process for converting it to a new task within Outlook, maybe with a rule or something.

    Thanks Clay,

I have considered the rule and macro option, however I think there may be a problem pulling out xml data and placing the contents into a task using a macro. The main point of this endeavour is to streamline a task process and having to submit the task with an xml attachment sort of defeats the purpose :). I'll have a look into the 'installabel' option.

     Cheers,
