    Warning Messages

My InfoPath form is attaced to a database located on a chared drive and works just fine.  Problem is that upon hitting the Submit button, I get the following messagess:

This Website uses a data provider that may be unsafe.  If you trust the website, click OK otherwise click cancel.

This website is using your identity to access a data source.  If you trust this website, click OK to continue, otherwise click Cancel.

I have check several sites for an answer and in most cases it appears that it speaks to Security settings for the URL.  Fixes I tried did not work in this case.  With my situation, nether the form or the database are web based si why the messages?  That being said, can I get rid of them without going to each individual machine?

Hi. Just wondering if anyone has a response to this.  I have infopath 2003 on a Vista operating system.

    Hi KentWoodJean and welcome,

I need more information on your solution:

    • What type of database are you using? Access or SQL? I'm guessing Access.
    • Is your InfoPath form's security setting Domain Trust (go to Tools->Form Options->Security)?
    • Is the machine that houses joined to the same database as the machine that is accessing it?
    • Are you running the InfoPath form locally (from the client machine)? If so, it's not domain trust, it's local. Publish form to the same Website that has the DB and open from that location.

    More later,

I am using an Access Database

My security setting is "Automatially determine security level based on form's design".  I changed it to Domain but continued to get the error messages.

The infopath form and database are in a file on a shared drive with all users having access to the programs and drive based on their Employee ID and Read and Write permissions that have been given.

It is not published to a web site.  We are in the process of building one but it is not ready so we work with the shared drive.

Well, this is the problem. Running on a share is more restrictive than Domain Trust. I've explained why in other posts. Anyway, the solution is to publish the form to a Website so that it can be Domain trust. Access is not a best practice for groups of people and you'll want to move to SQL. You could use MSDE or SQL EXPRESS - both of these are free and will do what you need. Cheers.
