ok how can i get the footer to be in diffrent lines like this:

footer line 1
footer line 2 
footer line 3
footer line 4

this is what i have:

&bfooter line 1&b
&bfooter line 2&b
&bfooter line 3
&bfooter line 4 &p of &P 

but its all in one same line...

i have infoPath 07

I am not sure it is possible.

You would need to put line feed characters in the footer text.

I have had to manually manipulate the footer before.

Extract source files and then open the Manifest.xdf with notepad. Do a find for your footer and then you can edit it directly and play with ASCII characters for LF/CR.

Let us know what happens.
