    Getting SharePoint document filename

I have got a data connection retrieving a list of documents from a SharePoint list, however I cannot get the actual file name, only the document title (which is different). I have tried adding the relevant columns to the SharePoint list view, but with no success. InfoPath seems reluctant to acknowledge the name column. How can I get the filename?

     thanks

    Simon

Hi Simon and welcome to the forum!

Have you downloaded the SharePoint SDK?  SharePoint offers many web services for interacting with the entities it stores.  There is a Document Workspace web service that has this method: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms772465.aspx, which looks promising.  I have not actually done this task in the past, but I know the SDK is a great place to start.

Good luck, and let us know if you figure it out or need more help!
