I'm not even sure if 'deploy' is the right word here. Please be kind enough to bear with my question..
I'm new to this and I figured I'll try a simple example to get a feel of how the entire structure is.
First, I created a database with a simple table called Customer, with 2 fields : customer_id (int) and name (nvarchar50).
Second, I used Microsoft Visual Web Developer Express to create a simple web service that have 2 web methods,
- public DataSet GetAllCustomers() that gets every row from the Customer table
- public void populateCustomer (string name) that inserts a new row into the table
Third, I used Infopath 2007 and created a form that uses these 2 web methods to submit and retrieve data from my database.
I tested them locally on another machine and they work fine =)
Then, I decided to see how it is supposed to work on sharepoint instead. I created an identical database on my sharepoint server and I published my form. Problem is, I have no idea how to 'deploy' my web service on the server. You see, all I had to to do using Microsoft Visual Web Developer Express was to ctrl-F5!
Pardon my trivial question, everything I'm doing here is new to me =l
