    Emailing Infopath forms

I have a form that is being tested by users, I supplied them with a button to email the form. When they click the button to email, the form that opens with the To: Subject: CC: are all grayed out. They would like to have the ablity to add a name to CC to and to be able to change or add to the subject line....How can I do this...

    Thanks

    Hey Ed.

The Email submit is set and cannot be edited by the user. They can only send or cancel.

    Two options.

    1. You can allow the Send To: command from the file menu but this just emails the current view.

    2. Add the fields in your form itself, or create another view where they can update the fields before the email and then have the submit use those fields.

If you would like to see a demo of our workflow setup, which allows this in a task pane, I would be happy to show you.

    Hi Clay,

When you say I can allow the Send To: command form the file menu, what exactly do you mean. Emailing the current view is fine.

    Thanks Ed

When the user is completing a form in InfoPath, they can use the File menu Send To: command just like in other office applications. Then they can specify whatever they want for the email parameters.

This can be enabled and disabled in Form Options in design mode.

    Clay,

Thanks so much for helping with this. One thing, when our forms open, we receive the following message...."The website uses a data provider that may be unsafe...."  How can I turn that off. I am sure the users will comment on it when we deploy the form....And the Microsoft Infopath book....Developing Solutions with Infopath....do you think its a good book?

Thank you so much for your support.

Where are the data connections coming from.  If the form has data connections from an untrusted site then the warning occurs for the user.  If it is web content then make sure the server is in your intanet or trusted site zone.  This will eliminate the warning.  If the source is a database, I still have not figured out how to get it to not appear on a database connection.

The book you mention is good, but we are some what bias here, since Patrick is one of the authors and the InfoPathDev founder.
