The form cannot be submitted to the following location : server error access denied.

    Hi,

Recently another person made some changes to our group policy settings. This
has caused a problem with most of our Infopath forms on our sharepoint
    intranet site.

One of which is as follows : When a user submits a form they get the
following error message "the form cannot be submitted to the following
location server error access denied". The form still submits OK but they
always get the error message. The reason Im sure it is due to the changes to
the group policy settings is that the only people not getting any errors are
the IT team. We are the only ones not in the group policy and none of us get
these errors at all. Also the errors occured right after he made the changes
    and nothing else has changed.

Unfortunately the guy who made the changes has left and has not documented
the changes. Is there anyway I can find out what he has changed thats causing
    all the problems?

I understand that within the group policy setup there are hundeds of
categories and sub categories. Would you have any suggestions about which
specific areas we need to look at for the changed settings?

Otherwise it could literally take days to check through it all.

    Welcome to InfoPathDev.

Have you audited your form to understand exactly what is triggering this error?  If the SharePoint submit is working the error might be coming from something else that is triggered at the same time.

I would look at the submit options or the button rules (whichever is used) and see what all is happening.  You can insert message boxes inbetween each step so that you can step through and verify exactly where and which item is causing the issue.  this would probably help in determining where the problem lies.

Hi, thanks for the prompt reply.

The form does submit properly for all IT staff (who are not in this group policy) and the form was working fine before the changes were made. However if you still tihnk it could be caused by something else it may be worth checking there.

How do I get an audti report on what is happening with the form submit? (bearing in mind that the error does not ever happen when I submit it as I am in the IT department and not in the group policy).

    Thanks.

You need to open the form in design mode.

If users use a button within the form to submit, double click it and view the properties.

If it is set to rules and code then you would need to check the rules and or code, whichever it contained.

If the button says Submit or if users user the submit button in the toolbar then Go to Tools-> Submit Options.

Look at the items which are included and like I said add meesage box actions if needed.

Definetely it is a permissions issue but you need to diagnose exactly where.  My gut tells me that if the form is being saved in the library that the error is coming from something else.

    Hi Torsten,

Sorry about the confusion. As we are usually quite busy trying to earn a living, we will require support credits. I have sent you an e-mail with details.

    Best!

    Hi,

I have examined the form in design mode. There are no rules and custom code on the form. The submit just submits the form to a sharepoint website. I could not see any options for add message box actions though, is it worth pursuing this avenue?

    Thanks.

Ok Torsten, that is what I wanted to know.

What data connections does it have?

I would suggest publishing it to a test library, ideally on a seperate site and see if you get the same issues.

So no warnings or errors until submit?  Also can you paste the details of the error message here?

    Thanks

The data connections for the form are numerous, as follows:

4 xml files. Here is an example: \\dermfp\ProductDatabases\eurodatabases\eurocoretreat.xml

Several other databases (.mdb files) are on the same network drive as the xml files.

There is another retrieve data from the sharepoint site that just gets names from a sharepoint contact list.

THere are no warnings or errors until the submit. Some users have now also reported that when they submit the form they dont get an error but tehy also dont get the message that the form has sumbitted successfully.

    Error message is as follows:

The form cannot be submitted to the following location: http://dermsharepointuk/purchasing/workspace/allocations/name.surname2007-12-11T15_35_17.xmlServer error: Access denied.

My guess is tha this is a permissions issue with the server. It should have nothing to do with the form.

    Hi Patrick,

This has always been my opinion, as the form was working fine until someone changed the settings in group policy then it started giving errors. Is there an easy way to find out which parts of the Group policy I need to look at changing?

    Thanks.

    Hello All,

I get this message everytime I create a new InfoPath form (i.e.  The form cannot be submitted to the following location: [site location] Log Form Library/concat(_ECR #_, ECRfield).xml
The site may be offline, read-only, or otherwise unavailable.  I have checked all of the data connections and submit options.  I did not set any group policies so I am not sure what is happening.  Patrick mentioned that it could be a permissions issue.  Could that be explained a little more?

     Thank you,

     Lori

Hi, Consider to check the submitting URL. After submission, the form seeks for site's URL which is somehow not available in your SharePoint. That is why, it is giving access error. When setting up your action on submit, try to use something as explained below: * It seems to be like this: https://site_name.sharepoint.com/_layouts/15/start.aspx#/form_name/Forms/AllItems.aspx * But, I removed extras and it worked for me: https://site_name.sharepoint.com/form_name This may help others.
