I have the following statement in my startup routine.

thisXDocument.DOM.selectSingleNode("//my:UserLookup").text = "Gary"

I am trying to pre-populate the user lookup field and I receive the following error

The _Startup or _Shutdown method in this form's code contains one or more calls to members of the Microsoft.Office.Interop.InfoPath.SemiTrust namespace. Calls to this namespace from these methods

How do I modify the field before being displayed to the user?

Hi,

why are you writing this code in the _Startup or _Shutdown method ?.

You can write this in the Onload event to populate the user lookup field.
