Filtering cascading dropdowns from multiple data connections

    Hi,

I am using a Secondary Data Connection (MS Access database) which includes two tables "Risks" & "Issues" With the following fields,

    Risks
      RiskCategory
      RiskType
      RiskSubType
      RiskSubSubType

    Issues
      RiskCategory
      RiskType
      IssueCategory
      IssueType
      IssueSubType
      IssueSubSubType

RiskCategory & RiskType form the primary key for all other fields.

On my form I have a repeating section for the risks (having 4 drop-down lists for each risk field) which has a repeating table within it for the issues (having 4 drop-down lists for each issue field). The form may have many Risks and each Risk may have many Issues.

Problem: When filtering the Risk fields I am using "RiskCategory = current()/RiskCategory...." to retrieve the RiskCategory for the current row only, and this works fine. But I cannot use "current()..." within the Issue fields to filter against the selected RiskCategory & RiskType as they are not in the current row.

Is there a way to do this?

If they are not in the current row, where are they?  You should be able to reference them with XPath in the Infopath designer.  Can you provide more information on your Main DOM schema and the layout of the table and drop-downs?

Thanks for the reply.  I have now fixed the problem.
