    Repeating Tables.... again!

    Close to finishing this project now, just one or two little tweeks needed.

    My user has made a request that when the form is opened, they would like it if the repeating table started with about 10 blank rows rather than just one.

    Does anyone know if this can be done. Would appreciate all suggestions.

    Hello,

    This is a very simple one to do. Just export the files and open the schema.xsd. Change minoccurs to 10 from 0.

    <xsd:complexType>
    <xsd:sequence>
    <xsd:element ref="my:group2" minOccurs="10" maxOccurs="unbounded"/>
    </xsd:sequence>
    </xsd:complexType>

    Where my:group2 is your repeating table.

    I hope this helps you.

    Hi,

    I extracted the files and changed the schema.xsd file. But simply saving it doesnt make the changes happen, do you have to re-compile all the extracted files or something like that / if so how is that done?

    Thanks

    Hello,

    Did You Try to Open the manifest/Solution again after the changes from the extracted Files.
    Also check whether the Changes you made are saved in the Schema.
    BTW How are you building the project? Do you have a sln file or only manifest.xsf?

    At the moment i have my form, and the files extracted from it in a separate folder, i edited the schema file and saved it, the changes are still there when i load it.

    I can't open the manifest file due to there being an "error in the xml file". I dont know what an sln file is but i've checked and dont appear to have one.

    I'm pretty sure this is all to do with the fact that i've had to carry this project on in InfoPath after it was started in another XML editor and the old and the new applications are just not compatable!

    I welcome your opinion.

    Hello,

    As You said there might be some other error in the XML.
    And sln file is a Solution File. This is generated when when you start building the Infopath Form with Visual Studio. Just try correcting the XML.

    But your changes in the schema.xsd will still be functional to Show 10 blank rows in the Repeating table.

    Hi,

    Which lanuage are you using, managed code(.net(C#/vb.net)) or scripting(jscript/vbscript).

    if you use managed code, you can have solution file(.sln file).you can open .sln file, from that open the schema file, make the changes .After changes build the project.
    You can do the changes directly in template.xml.
    Find the node you want repeat, copy and past that node 10 times and save the template.xml and build the project.

    Thanks.
