Field selection to show data in another field

I hope I can explain this right.

The out come I want is in "field 1" I have a data connection to a SharePoint list. When I select from that list it displays the data from another column in that list in "field 2"

So "field 1" is linked to column "A" and "field 2" is linked to column "B" which is drive by "field 1"

It would be ideal to use the SharePoint list as the data source, but if you know another way to achive this that would be great too.

        Thanks

So Field1 is a drop down which uses the SP list column A as its external source.

    Put a rule on Field1.

Action would be to set Field2 with B but put a filter ( when selecting B Filter is located in the bottom left of the window) where Field1 = A.

Play around with it and have fun. Some of the blog posts have screen shots too.

It makes sence what you said, but when setting rules or filters nothing will reference the SharePoint List to chose from. That is why I was thinking maybe I need to create a local list some how. Not sure how to do that either. The only reason I want to keep it in the SharePoint list is because I want the end user to be able to edit the list. They don't have InfoPath so everything is going to be done through the browser.

Holy cow you rock, I got it figured out. I didn't know I could select a data source to select a column.

       Thanks
