How are InfoPath forms stored in SharePoint?

This question came up today and I think I know the answer but let me ask the experts.

When a form(.xml) is creatd and published in Sharepoint is the XML file stores phyiscially on the Front end server or is it stored in the content database?

Also is the data from the filled out forms also stored in the content DB and the the forms are bult dynamically when the user opens a completed form?

Everything is stored in the content DB, but you should be able to get it out via the SharePoint web services.  The XSN and the XML files are both serialized to binary and then stored in the Content DB.  At least, that's my understanding...
