InfoPath Dev

I have two fields I would like to reference each other. For instance, I have a category of expenses (Airfare, Parking, etc.) that I would like the user to select from a drop-down box. Is there anyway for this field to reference an account number and put it in, say, a textbox field, next to the list box when an expense is chosen? There are about 15 account numbers. It isn't in a huge database; I am making this completely on my own.

That's great. I just realized that some of these expenses are being paid from the same account, so the IDs aren't unique for each fee. I am going to have to a way to get around it.

I'm trying to follow this how-to guide exactly to learn how to do it, but I am getting stuck at where I fill the drop-low list with values from the scondary data source. When I choose the data source Clients, it is fine, but when I click the XPath button, it doesn't show /ClientInfo; I can't find any of the choices from the XML document. My options are font, and other obscure things. I wrote the XML in Microsoft Word and saved it as XML. Did I do something wrong saving it? I am not sure what is wrong.

Well, it appears as though Microsoft Word isn't the place to go. I saved it in Notepad and it worked. I am not sure why it won't work for me when I save it in MW, but at least I got it to work.

I'm glad you got it to work! Yeah, editing text files in anything but a text editor is usually not the best way to go... Altova makes a really cool XML editor called XMLSpy that works really well and even has a pretty print feature!
