    ADService - Installation issue?

    Hello, we recently purchased the ADService and I am attempting to get the I"Installing and Configuring Web Service.mht" page to work.

    When clicking on "GetMyInfo", and then clicking "Invoke", I receive the following page:

      <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
      <ArrayOfADProp xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xsi:nil="true" xmlns="http://tempuri.org/" />

    dNo info seems to be returning.
    Do I have to query ActiveD using a specific username?
    Why would it not be returning any data?

    Thanks.

    Probably has to do with the LDAP configuration string for your domain. Can you open the Web.Config and search for LDAP and paste the string into a reply here?

    Thanks, Got it figured out.

    Now, I'm trying to enable your component on our SharePoint 2007 server.  Do you have step by step instructions somewhere to do so?

    The key steps are to add the web service path to your list of excluded paths, so that SharePoint doesn't intercept it.

    I think we have this documented in the installation notes for the DBXL Web Service Suite. More soon,

     ...

     oops! on MOSS 2007, you don't have to exclude any managed paths. So, ignore that previous comment.

    What problem are you seeing?

    Welp,

    I have installed the service, and it installs as a virtual directory under our defaul website, which is the sharepoint website.

    I am getting this when attempting to load https://iportal.northernhealth.ca/adservice

    Server Error in '/ADService' Application.

    Re: ADService - Installation issue?

    When installing a virtual directory under Sharepoint, you are inheriting all the Sharepoint modules.  Adding the following to the ADService web.config will remove those Sharepoint has added.

       <httpModules>
       <clear />
       <add name="WindowsAuthentication" type="System.Web.Security.WindowsAuthenticationModule" />
      </httpModules>

    The following link describes the default httpModules for a non-Sharepoint site.  WindowsAuthentication should be all you need for the ADService.

    I forgot to mention that the httpModules section I noted needs to go inside the <system.web> section.
