Populate Dropdown lists from primary datasource?

    Hello,

I have a form which has several cascading dropdownlists. I used to have them set up on secondary data sources and they would retreive data whenever the form was opened.

However, I had to switch them to the primary data source and now they don't contain anything, and I can't seem to figure out how to populate them.

How can I populate a dropdown list that's based on a field in the primary data source?

    Thanks for any help,

Hi Torrwin and welcome to the forum!

First you might want to check out these HowTos:http://www.infopathdev.com/howto/tutorials/default.aspx?s=Lists

If you are still having trouble after that could you provide a little more information about your schema, the number of cascading drop-downs and what kind of filtering you are trying to do?

If you goto Tools, Form Options, Open and Save, Open Behavior, Rules, you can then add a rule to query the main data connection as the form opens

Infopath never quieries the main data connection when opening unless it is told to using this section
