Browser form wanting to constantly use Infopath

I have read more posts than I care to and walked through lab after lab trying to create a browser form that works. I have doubled checked each settings until my eyes are crossed.

When I publish the form to the WSS 3.0 document library I get the "finished" success dialog box with the link "open the form in a browser" and I click on the link and it opens in the browser! PERFECT! But....that is the only time it will open in the browser. Everytime after that it opens the form template in Infopath. I have also tried opening the form on PC's in our network without Infopath and I get a Microsoft Internet Explorer warning dialog that says, 'This feature requires Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or later and a Windows Sharepoint Services-compatible XML editor such as Microsoft Office InfoPath." I have checked every setting that I can think of....HELP!

I am using MOSS 2007 enterprize with Forms server enabled. IE 7 for the browser. Advanced settings on the document library to open form in a browser. Publish the form with no browser errors..... What gives?

    Kalyan,

Thanks for the link. I doubled checked the 2 settings that the instructions mentioned ("Display as a Web page" setting of a Form Library and "Render form templates that are browser-enabled by users" setting in SharePoint Central Administration ) both settings are just as they need to be but I still get the IE Warning Dialog saying "This feature requires Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or later and a Windows Sharepoint Services-compatible XML editor such as Microsoft Office InfoPath."

There has got to be another reason for this.

    Anyone else know?

    I figured it out...finally!

The setting "Require SSL for HTTP authentication to data sources" was enabled in the Configure InfoPath Forms Services. (Application Management/ InfoPath Forms Services)

What an ordeal! (Is this setting enabled by default?)
