Multiple List Boxes in IP 2003 and How to get data to Sharepoint

    Hi -

I'm relatively new to IP.  I have a form and needed to have a list that the user can select multiple entries.  I created a scrolling region with a repeating table within it.  I have about 50 or so items in the list and the user can choose multiple one.  That works great, cumbersome but it works.

My issues comes when I'm trying to submit the data back to Sharepoint.  When I publish the data I select the field that has the value in my repeating group.  However it sends the first in the list, but it may not be selected.  I use last, well the last one in the list is send and if I use merge the whole list is sent regardless if it is selected or not.

The next issue, if I can get the one above corrected, is that I need the users to be able to sort based on what is checked off in the list.  For example, if Item A and Item C are selected I need the user to find all the items that are relevant to Item C in Sharepoint.

Can you give a bit more information on your solution and the components?

You are pulling data from a list.

The user is selecting multiple items

Then you want this saved back to a different list which is sorted and only contains the selected records?

    Is this correct?

Re: Multiple List Boxes in IP 2003 and How to get data to Sharepoint

Thanks for the response.  I am open to do this any way that I can.

Currently I have a form library set up in Sharepoint.  I have created my IP form and am sending the information by to the form library.  Since I am on IP 2003 there is no control for a Multiple Select List so I have created my own.  I am not pulling the data from the list but have created a repeating group with two fields in them and I am putting the default values in through IP.  Now my form shows nicely with all the values that I need and the user can select multiple selections with no problem.

I am sending this information back to Sharepoint but this is where I'm having issues.  I am unable to control the data that is fed back.  Let's say my list containa A, B, & C and the user has selected B & C the information going back to Sharepoint is A.  I understand why and if I change to the merge on the field then I get A, B, C.  It doesn't show me what has actually been selected.

Futhermore I need to be able to let the user use the filter in Sharepoint so they can find all the items that are related to B.  Ideally it would be nice if this information could write back to a check box type of field in Sharepoint.
