Screen (page) breaks and %like% query

I have two questions using IP 2003.

    1. I am doing a query that will return about 300-400 rows

I would like to limit each screen to 100 records for ease of use.  Is there
a way to create page breaks on a screen?

Front Page had a simple setting for limiting query returns on inserted a
page link to move forward and back.

    2. Is there a simple way to do a "like" query in IP 2003?

The user wants to just type in the first 3 characters of a field and return
all those that start with "ABC"

    Thank you for your Help.

You should be able to use conditional formating to limit the display to a series of 100 or what ever records at a time. You would just need a field for begining record number and ending record number and then format your repeating table or section to display numbers between the fields. Can set defaults to start with and then even make buttons which increment by a set amount, to quickly page through.

I do not find anything in the conditional formating that either allows counting or to limit the display to 100

I am using IP 2003.  Is that something in 2007?

Or can you provide greater detail in an example?

Re: Screen (page) breaks and %like% query

You have to create some of it. I am assuming there is a record number or some field like that in your table data.

So you create two new fields

    PageStart and PageEnd

PageStart defaults to 1 PageEnd Defaults to 100

You place these on the form above your Table.

You then add a conditional format to the table

RecordNum is lessthan PageStart or Greater than PageEnd - Hide

Then if they change the PageStart or PageEnd the Table will unhide records accordingly.  You can have buttons which can increment each a set value if you wanted.

For %like% you can use the contains or starts-with functions in your rules or formulas.

    Hope this helps.
