InfoPath Dev

I am trying to install v2.1 I have tried on 2 machines. Both are VM's.

The SQL DB is on a seperate box. Running SQL2000 clustering is running as well on the DB server

I tired the install on the sharepoint2003 server that is currently deployed, the install failed with the same error. It is a VM machine

The second machine was a fresh install of IIS and Sharepoint Services, the default website initially had an issue with VM console using  port 80 but I fixed thath

I get almost to the end and it throws the folloeing error

The installation failed, and the rollback has been performed -->Error initializing DBXL database. --> the request failed with HTTP status 503: Service unavailable.

Any ideas I am stumped?

Vince - Sorry for the problems.

It should not be a problem in any of the environments you describe.

We did have some late fixes for SQL 2000 and that build might not be out for download. If you email me directly i can send yuou the latest build.

 Are all cases with SQL 2000?

If you can send me both screen shots of the error and go into the Event log and send me the contents of any errors listed in the qdabra log that would be great.

 I have just tried to install the Database Accellerator which you recommended to me on the Infopath discussion groups.

However I am getting the same error as vince, i am installing on a Windows 2003 VM machine and connecting to a seperate SQL 2005 server. The service account for qdabra as all the proper permissions on the SQL Server. I am stumped.

 Any ideas?

Sorry you ran into an issue.

You are getting a 503 error?  This is a permissions issue.

Typically with a seperate SQL Server it is easiest to use an SA account.  Other wise you need to give the server machine account where the web service is installed sysadmin access to SQL.

 Im afraid i am still running into the error. I have got a service account called 'srvqdabra', this has sysadmin on the sql box. I have entered this to run the qdabra web service under this account but still 503 error. I also get the error when trying it with the sa logon.

Any more ideas?

There are a few things you should check. 

1) Make sure that the .NET Framework 2.0 is installed, and that the DBXL virtual directory is configured to use .NET 2.0.

2) Download the latest DBXL 2.1.  There were some fixes for non-English Windows installs and SQL2000 installations.

3) Are there any entries in the Application or Qdabra eventlogs?

In addition, please check the state of the DBXL Application Pool in IIS and make sure it is started.  If it is stopped, there is likely a problem with the user account/password being used.  You can try resetting it in the Identity tab of the app pool's property page.  Then restart the app pool.
