How to connect an existing form to a table in a database

A co-worker has created a nice Infopath form. Management would like us to store this data from the form in an Access database.

Unfortunately, the form was created first. When I went to the data connection there was submit and receive radio buttons, but only the receive could be

mapped to an Access database. The submit radio button did not show anything about an access database or SQL Server database.

Do we have to rebuild the form now that I have mapped a table in a database to store the info??? (its a large form, infact we have 5 forms that we need to do this to!)

    Thanks

Does everyone write to same database or a different ones?

If it is the same database it would be better for you to write a webservice to write data to database. Because you will not have options to write to multiple tables at the same time from a form.

I would be writing to 1 table only. Does this make a difference?

    Hi Ed,

Sorry for my delay in seeing your post. We have a perfect solution for you - it's called Qdabra Database Accelerator (DBXL). It's a Web service meant to accelerate connection of existing forms to SQL. I'd be happy to show you a demo. We have many satisfied customers. The developer version is free and we'd be more than happy to show you how to use it. Basically, you should be able to install DBXL and get your solution up and submitting to a DB in like 20-30 minutes.

    Here's more info: http://www.qdabra.com/Content/ProdInfo/DBXLv2/Qdabra-DBXLBusinessValue.pdf

Let me know if you'd like a demo.

    Regards,

    Patrick
