    connecting two infopath forms

    Hi,

My requirement is to connect two infopath forms. I have one infopath form on which a unique EmpNo will be populated and I have to take that EmpNo into another 10 infopaths.

that means, all infopaths must have the same EmpNo which is generated in the first infopath. How can I achieve this?

I am assuming you are using a backend database to store your employee information, and then all of your forms can reference this.  I have done similar enterprise HR forms.  I would recomend the Database Accelerator since it will give you a whole tool set of Web Services which you can use to get the User's active directory information and then both query and submit your data in the backend database.  It works really nice.  If you would like a demo or some examples let me know.

First of all how do you want to connect these InfoPath forms? Will you have a control in the first form to open the second form?

    Hi Basheer.

So you want a second form to open at the same time as the first?  Is this another copy of the same form or a different one?

One of the actions for rules is to open a form.  You should be able to go into form options and open and save and rules and add one to open the second form.

    Hope that helps.

You may be confusing views with forms.

A typical method is to have multiple views in your form, one read only and one editable.

Otherwise you can have a button with an action to open another form.

But I think you really want one form with two views which you can move between with a button or triggered by another event.
