    saving delay?

when i save an xml-file in infopath to a location on the sharepoint server, somehow.. the xml-data on the server doesn't change immediately.

this problem occured while parsing xml-files directly from the sharepoint server through a shell script while having the xml-file open in infopath. so after saving it, somehow, there still was the old version on the server. even closing infopath & reopening it couldn't help. but when i open another document in infopath, close it and then reopen the old one, the changes are applied, but maybe that's just coincidence.

just somehow.. the changes aren't applied in the document that is generated with the parsed xml-data.

it appears as if the version on the server remains the same until some kind of connection is closed... bah.. i have no clue where the problem could be. :(
maybe this is more a sharepoint/filesystem/os specific problem...

    can anyone help?

    regards

    fabian

    Hi Fabian,

I have no idea. Must be server-side though. Check out your SharePoint database settings.

    Ah well, i thought so..

However, that's not my field of responsibility, and it isn't really mandatory... I just wrote in the infopath form to wait 30 seconds before using the file to make sure it was updated.
I just thought it was weird because if you put something on the server with the explorer, it's updated immediately.

    thanks for your reply nevertheless..

    Hi Gallium,

Yes, it is weird. We'd be happy to review your XSN to make sure there wasn't something bad in it. Just upload or send us. Thanks!
