    Open Infopath and Switch View

    Hi,

I have an infopath form accessed from a Sharepoint library. The library contains several different views. The infopath form also contains several different views.

Does anyone know if it's possible to open the infopath form and automatically switch to the view that corresponds to the library view that the form was opened from?

So for example, the Orders Sharepoint Library contains a Shipping view and a Deliveries view. Inside the Infopath form there is a Shipping and a Deliveries view also. If the user is in the Shipping library, when the hit the edit document button can it take them directly to the Shipping view within Infopath?

I have posted this question a few times and no one has gotten back to me. Any help at all would be appreciated.

I am not aware of any way to query the current view of the user from SharePoint.

Ideally you could choose the opening view by user, what department they are a member of, or by some peice of data in the form, such as its state in your process or something.

You possibly could get the current URL of their browser but this gets you into full trust and lots of complication.

Do you use a backend database? Have you looked at the Database Accelerator Web Services Suite.  Qdabra Database Accelerator Suite Version 2.0 - Developer

With it and our catalog form you could have the same view functionality as SharePoint but also have the ability to react to the current view like you are looking for.

I could show you a demo if you would like.
