Cascade Dropdown with complex filter expression

    Using IP 2003.

I have a Job Category dropdown with a value that is equal to a Letter, I have a another Job title dropdown in which I would like to apply a filter in which the 2nd letter of the Job Title Code=Job Category value. Both of these dropdowns get their data from a SharePoint list (but I don't think that matters in this case)

    For example:

When the Job Category dropdown shows Construction, value is C

Job Title should show all of the titles such as 1C456, 2C378, 4C123, etc

    TIA

The easiest way to do what you want is to set up another field which stores just that second character. You can set up a default value formula using substring() to pull out that second character. Then base your filter off this additional field.
