    Option button default won't stick

I'm making a form, I find that where I have radio buttons (Option Button Controls) a strange thing happens. On many of my Option buttons, there is a default answer selected, this shows up in the design and in the preview modes. If I open the properties, I can see that there is a check in the box for "This button is selected by default". I can uncheck this box, apply the change, click OK, and it does not stick. If I open the properties again, the box is checked again for ""This button is selected by default".

I don't want any default values in this form, all fields should default to NULL. However, I can't remove these default Option button values.

Further, under Tools>>Default Values I can look at the field and see that there is no default value selected, yet when I run the form, it is always there.

     Any ideas about this weirdness?

    thanks,

    Hey welcome to the forums.

The nature of the option buttons control is that it must have a value when selected. This occurs since you have not put anything in the value when select box.  If you enter some value for the button once it is selected than it will start performing correctly.  If the value is blank it keeps setting itself and any other occurences bound to that same field to checked.
