    Security problem

    Hi everyone

I am not sure this is the right place to post this but anyway. I have a securty problem.

I am using two XML as external data sources, and for professional reasons, I cannot have those files inside my form (in the XSN file).

And I also have a Button to save the XML form.

This is creating some sort of conflit between the need of the full trust for the button and the fact that XML files a totally externals.

Any idea on how to solve this.

    Regards

Once your form is full trust, it should have rights to do whatever it needs to. Loading external XML files as data sources should not be a problem in full trust.

What is the error you are getting. And does it really go away when you go back to domain trust?

    Hi Greg

Here are the differents "use cases" :

If I put domain for the security level and I do not sign it : XML import works (still a popup asks me if I really want to load unsecure data) but the save button does not work (access denied)

If I put full access for security and do not sign it :  the form will not be loaded => the error : "InfoPath cannot allow access to those files and parameters because  this model form is not fully reliable"

If I put domain for the security level and sign it : XML import works (still a popup asks me if I really want to load unsecure data) but the save button does not work (access denied)

If I put full access for security and sign it : XML import works (without the popup) and the save button works.

The thing is that this form will be modified (it is a template) with new controls and data. And the layout will be modified.

Then it will be saved under a new name. Will it still works ?

I have been told that I could also use MSI forms or InfoPath SDK RegForm.

Will it work for "child" form ?
