Drop Down Menu fed from external data...

    Hi

I am feeding a Drop down menu value and Display name from an external list....  The fields are boolean

If I use 'enter values manually'  I can have True and False as my values - but the descriptions are for example Required/Not Required.

If I set up the same in an external list ie Value = True  Display name = Required.... and then select Required.  I get the error message that only True and False are allowed.

What am I doing wrong ?

    Hi Catharine,

Devil in the details.  When InfoPath displays "True" and "False" to you through the designer, it is capitalizing the first letter of each word, but this should not be happening.  The XML values of true and false are actuall "true" and "false".  So you if you make your data source have the all-lowercase version, you should be set.

You are attempting to use VB-style Boolean values (i.e. Capital-T rue, and Captial-F alse). XML uses all lowercase: "true/false".
