Hi

 I have a form to get done asap - have been working on it for ages. Basically I want to select a person from a drop down list and then autopopulate another 5 fields with their uniaue data. All of the information  is in an Access database - I just need step by step instructions how to link/filter them.

The fields are - Name (drop down of 75 people) and then PC Name, PC Comments, VPN, VPN Comments.

Any help much appreciated.

This isn't too complicate - hopefully these steps will get you on your way!

1. Add the connection to the Access database, and make sure that it queries whenever the form loads
2. Add the drop-down to the view and populate it with the repeating section that was created from Step 1

Thanks for your help, I finally got there (very proud of myself!).

I have used your clients.xml to review the data in a drop down and populate other fields and this works perfectly.

I am now attempting the same, but using an external data source (Acess 2007) table. When I add the XSL conditional statement (as per step 10) I get an error. Is this different when connecting to Access as opposed to XML?

xdXDocument:GetDOM("Clients")/dfs:myFields/dfs:dataFields/d:Clients/@ClientName [../ID = current()]

Error I get is: "xdXDocument:GetDOM("Clients")/dfs:myFields/dfs:dataFields/d:Clients/ID" does not point to a valid location path of a field or group.

You need to double check your xpath -- did you select the @ClientName field using the Insert Field or Group button?
