    1. You can create a form which has its main data source bound to the database tables. Then submit is straight forward.

    2. You can write a Web service which submits the data to the database... will likely require some form code as well.

    hi,

I have tried first method of the list i.e. 1. "Create a form which has its main data source bound to the database tables. Then submit is straight forward"

.But on Submit option, only following three methods are comming in dropdown.

    Submit using WebService

    Submit Through HTTP

    Submit using Custom Script

There is no option comming to select database.

is it a problem related to version of InfoPath?

For Receivig, Database option is comming but for submit its not comming.

    Please reply asap.

    Thanks

Not sure why you are not getting the option. Some designs are not supported in InfoPath.

Try designing a new form based on a SQL connection to a very simple single table)... i.e. nothing fancy - no table linked to another table, etc.

If this works, then check to make sure the design you are creating in your sql query string for connection is supported.

In case you didn't choose to design your form based on a sql connection, try going that route first. This is different than adding a sql connection later.
