Info Path forms will not function with Dell wireless card on

We recently began using the following air card in our Dell 620 computers and as soon as the air card is engaged, Info Path will not work.  The card is:

Dell Wireless 5700 Mobile Broadband (CDMA EV-DO) Express card

Any open Info Path form will begin to "blink" and entering data becomes impossible.  The air card does not need to be connected to the network for this to happen.  However, this does not happen with every air card, so we think it may be a certain setting, but we have tried them all.  The program works fine with our Verison air cards.  Any ideas or suggestions on this would be greatly appreciated.  It was my idea to use Info Path in the company, and it has worked quite well up to this, but now it is making look like quite the idiot.  Dell has been contacted and in their usual fashion never responded.  Please help.

Well it would appear if your InfoPath solution works fine otherwise that the issue is with the card and not InfoPath or your form.  I do not think you should be the fall guy on this one.

How do you use InfoPath, is this a local template or is it getting pulled over the network from an extenal location?

Are you using webservices or dataconnections within the form that have to connect to external sources?

I am assuming you have verified this on multiple computers with multiple network setups.

My first guess would be some performance issue with these cards or their associated software, either they are taking up more resources on the laptops and InfoPath is not getting what it needs or InfoPath is dependent on the network connection and it is not performing correctly and therefore InfoPath is having issues displaying the data or is waiting for it.

I would watch the performance monitor as you do your testing.

I would also create some simpler forms maybe. One that is just a local form without any external dataconnections and see how it performs.  And then maybe a stripped down version of your current form to try an isolate what the issue is.

It sounds like you are stuck with the Dell Cards so I guess using alternative cards is not an option.  If you are using the EVDO, I would verify the troughput and latency you are getting, make sure you have the latest drivers, and also look at the client software. Often the default software is more than you need and may be effecting your performance.

Give us more details and we can try to help further.

Re: Info Path forms will not function with Dell wireless card on

    Thanks for the response.

Currently the forms are placed on a network to be copied to individual laptops. Then they can fill out the forms off line and submit the forms via email.  there is currently no external databases being querried by this form.  It is when they engage the wireless air card that some of the computers begin to "blink" and filling out any data while connected becomes impossible.  Since the managers pull info from other programs, they like to be on line when doing this.  The forms work fine off line or when they connect directly to the network while at work.  I will try some of your suggestions above and post those results.  Luckily, we are not tied to these air cards, and have used external cards without issues prior to this new internal air card.  Worse case, we switch back.  Thanks again.
