    AD Service: install problem

    Hi, I am installing the AD Service on a Win2003 server that also has SharePoint Portal server 2007 beta installed.

    The installer fails with a message saying that eiher IIS is not running or the virtual directory 'http://spsportal/ADService' is unavailable. Now IIS is running and serving sharepoint. also, there is no ADService directory anywhere. Using a name other than ADService produces the same result.

    What's happening here?

    I solved the problem. There was no "Default Web Site" on my server for ADService to install to. I created the website and ADService installed.
