    255 Character Limit

Has anyone been able to determine if the 255 character limit when submitting to a database or SharePoint will be fixed in 2007? This is a real sticking point for my projects.

Thanks in advance for the info!

On SharePoint where are you getting the limit? When you promote a property? What kind of field is it?

This is a quote from InfoPath 2007 help file.

"Long data types, such as pictures, images, OLE objects, file attachments, and Access Memo or SQL data types, should be excluded from the data connection. InfoPath does not support data connections to these long data types. To exclude specific fields in the database, use the Data Connection Wizard to set up the data connection."

I found this to be true when submitting to a SharePoint list when using v.2.

I was wondering if anyone can explain why this limitation exists and if there is a possibility that the long data types can be submitted to a database or a SharePoint list?

You cannot update the SharePoint list with long datatypes, but you can do the same to a DataBase of your own.
For database you either need to write a webservice to submit the data to a DB or you can buy Qdabra webservice to get this functionality.
