• Add the ability to easily display multiple columns in a drop down list
  
• add the ability to easily display data from a multi-column dropdown list in a separate text box

showing multiple fields in a single list is a common request, and will hopefully be corrected in the next release.

As for updating separate text boxes when a value is selected... although a common (and very useful) request, I question whether this will ever be fixed as Rules and Code are the approved means to make this happen. But keep posting your ideas!

I haven't tested the first two items you listed, but InfoPath 2007 will have the third!
