We have set the print orientation to Portrait in each of the views but we still have to individually go to File => Print => Properties => Basic and re-select Portrait in order to get portrait prints. And the orientation will not save. The next time we come to this forma and try to print it we get Landscape again. Is there some setting in some xsf file that we can alter to get the default to be Portrait for this form (and for all forms, since this is our preferred print orientation)? 02-21-2006 08:17 AM In reply to Fourteener Joined on 02-15-2006 USA Posts 6 Re: Default Print Orientation Mark as Not AnswerMark as Answer... Reply Contact This issue is becoming quite serious. Does anyone know how to alter the default view and print orientation to portrait? 02-21-2006 10:15 AM In reply to Fourteener Joined on 02-15-2006 USA Posts 6 Re: Default Print Orientation Mark as Not AnswerMark as Answer... Reply Contact From everything I can find, I have to assume there is no way to set a default print and view orientation other than landscape for InfoPath. This seems extremely limiting. I will need to find another tool as this one is not able to do what we need it to do. 02-22-2006 01:01 AM In reply to Patrick Halstead Joined on 08-07-2006 Posts 5,112 Re: Default Print Orientation Mark as Not AnswerMark as Answer... Reply Contact Hi Fourteener,You could do this in code, but I agree that printing is not InfoPath's forte.Patrick Halstead [InfoPath MVP]InfoPath Dev Seattle Patrick HalsteadProject Manager at Qdabra 02-22-2006 01:41 PM In reply to AndersR Joined on 10-20-2005 Denmark Posts 138 Re: Default Print Orientation Mark as Not AnswerMark as Answer... Reply Contact I have worked with Adobe's form designer before and I know that it has really good print support. However, the input and code functionality is aweful. One idea that I had would be to use InfoPath for form filling out and Adobe to read the XML generated, and perform advanced layout for printing. I know this would be a lot of trouble, but it would give you the best of both worlds!Just a thought, hope you get things working!---------------Matt FausInfoPath Dev Texas Matt Faus / Microsoft InfoPath MVPQdabra® Software / Streamline data gathering to turn process into knowledge 02-24-2006 02:19 PM In reply to Fourteener Joined on 02-15-2006 USA Posts 6 Re: Default Print Orientation Mark as Not AnswerMark as Answer... Reply Contact Thanks for all your comments. I'll try to pick up a guide on coding InfoPath to achieve a default orientation of Portrait. It's somewhat helpful to know that this is a basic deficiency in the product and not just my ignorance. Thanks again. Page 1 of 1 (8 items) Copyright © 2003-2019 Qdabra Software.
