    need for new forum

I think the moderators should make a new forum for things that tweak people while using InfoPath.

For instance, today, I was using a scrolling section for the first time and it was driving me nuts. In Design mode, this is not user friendly at all. Clicking off the scroll bar and clicking back on resulted in the scroll bar automatically going to the bottom position.

Also, in general I've noticed that clicking on a section or area very often causes the screen to jump, momentarily disorienting me and always moving the screen to somewhere that i dont want to be looking at.

Tables are another big gripe of mine. When I insert a table inside a table or inside a repeating section, a line is automatically inserted below the table which makes it impossible for the inner table and the outer table's bottom cell walls to lie flush with eachother.

Also, there is a minimum height of a cell which is often times too big to be practicle for the purpose I need it for.

And I also need to be able to use a table in "free form" where I can merge and stretch cells without interfering with other cells. Which, currently, it is very restrictive about with the ways you can manipulate cells.

Just a little rant, but I think a forum devoted to InfoPath pet peeves could end a lot of annoyances people may have with InfoPath.

    Hey Trufooser,

The click-jump issue is solvable. Ask Greg for the solution. The Tables issue will sometimes require XSL manual edits, but that also is solvable (and indeed gripable).

In general, believe me, we feel your pain! I agree that we should have a Pet Peeves forum. I will ask Greg to create one asap.

    Thanks for the help!

Actually, there already are 2 forums for such things. One is this forum that you posted this topic in: Bugs / Errors / Workarounds. The other is the Feature Requests forum. Any pet-peeve you have should fall into one of those two categories--either a problem or a suggestion.

Greg, the above poster says to contact you for the 'form jumping' problem in Infopath.  Do you have a solution that keeps the form from jumping around while controls are enabled?

    thanks.

What specifically are you encountering? InfoPath 2010 has made a lot of improvements in this area. But it mainly depends on what you are experiencing.

i 'think' it is an item with Tab Order of the controls.

As a control is hidden/disabled the form 'jumps' to the top of the form again.  In doing some testing I thought about tab order and changed a control to have another tab order index.  The form 'jumped' to that control.

So, while I think I know what it is, i'm wondering, should I set the Tab Order for every item?
