Crash when filling new elements to form

    Hi,

I am experiencing a very annoying bug with Infopath 2003 Sp2 in both Windows 2003 and XP SP2 environments. The IE version 6.0.2900.2180.

When doing special operations, like paste/cut, or insert a new row or a new section, Infopath gives an error (Access violation, into MSCVT.DLL) and the usual error reporting screen opens. I sent at least 100 of these reports but the bug remains:)

This makes working on large forms impossible, since we have to save the file everytime before to make any of these special operations. 9 times out of 10, when I reopen the form, I am able to perform the
task... for a small period of time. The form use only secondary data sources (XML files) and no JScript.

It seems that presence of repeating sections/tables is a condition for this bug (maybe because the form is large and needs scrolling?).

This is a major headache for me as we're about to deploy 50+ infopath
users. Do you know any workaround ? What may be the sources of this bug?

    Thanks,
    Pascal.

Re: Crash when filling new elements to form

    Thanks Matt,

I don't think it is the same bug since I don't use custom toolbars and my bug happens only when filling a form (Design mode has been working fine with these forms).

I've tried pagination on my main view (showing only repeating sections by groups of 10) - faster rendering, but the bug remains.

My only "workaround" is to have a "text-only" view of the data (without combo, only text fields w/ repeating tables) for copy/paste/edition... I have the filling the bug has something to see with combos and repeating sections.

Volume of data is about 200 items/combo from internal and external XML files, with about 6 combo by section and 20-200 sections.

    Ideas still welcome:)
    Pascal.
