Right click Copy and Paste in InfoPath

I noticed that the 'Paste' item on the mouse context menu behaves erratically. When using the mouse to Copy and Paste, the 'Paste' item is sometimes disabled for no apparent reason. But it is always possible to use the Ctrl-v shortcut on the keyboard.

    Anyone encounter this before?

    Thanks

    Cat

What type of data are you trying to paste into what type of data field? If the data types don't match, that could be a reason.

    Hi,

Same data type. Its just weird that when I right click all buttons are disabled including the Paste.

    Any idea?

It sounds as though your field is not even present in the XML. Can you even type into the field? If not, then the field is not present for some reason.

Confirmed, I get the same in InfoPath 2003.

It looks like if you place the cursor at the 'end' of a tag (not that you can see them - ie at the end of a para) in a rich text box, you can't right click paste as its grayed out.

Further, if you follow the step by clicking at the end of a section, then right clicking to see the paste grayed out, you can then not use the Edit menu paste either until you click elsewhere first.

    Ctrl-v always works.

     Odd indeed.
