Ok strange one here, maybe somebody has a work around.

I have a field that I am setting its value based on the value of two other fields. The problem is the moment I place a rule to set the value, one of the field values that create the value disappear, while the other field which also shares its data is unaffected. If I remove all the rules everything is fine. Does anyone have any clue as to why this occurs? This one really has me stumped.

How many data sources do you have? Are you setting the values from within the main data source or are you setting from a secondary data source? Office 2007 has a cool new logic inspector that will help debug these issues, but it's only released in beta. We could look at the form for you.
