    Main Connection bugs

    Hi,

When I create a new form from data connection (Database), which have a relation to another table, and I Uncheck the "Allow multiple record from this table to be displayed in the form".

After I create the form, the table in database had changes, so I need to modify the Data Connection, when I try to modify, the table in Data Connection change as a Repeating table, and Check the "Allow multiple record from this table to be displayed in the form"

    thanks

Hi Erwin and welcome to our forum!
First, allow me to do some grammar checking (since I worked on both the English and Japanese grammar checkers for Microsoft ... :)). "Extremely" is an adverb which modifies a verb, so your signature should read "eXtreme developer that writes code only my God can understand". Extreme is an adjective and it can modify developer fine.

Ok, now on to the question. I'm not sure I understand. Are you saying that you can no longer chec kthe "allow multiple records..." or are you saying this is checked when you expect it to not be checked? Please clarify.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

    Sorry for my bad english,
When I try to uncheck the "allow multiple records...", it's works. But when I try to modified the connection once again since it had changes on the database, it change, and check the "allow multiple records...".

Try, create one connection form, and Uncheck the "Allow multiple records...".
Go to Tools>Data Connections, modify the Main Connection.
the "Allow multiple records..." was Checked.
Since I had work with many relation table on database, it been a problem for me. I had to uncheck the "Allow multiple records..." for every table once again.
And every time my table structure had change, I had to uncheck it once again.

    Thanks

    Erwin,

I think you are trying to limit the number of rows that a repeating table connected to a database displays. To do this check out these two tutorials for a much easier way to accomplish this:

Hope this helps! If this wasn't really what you were asking please clarify...

    Sorry before
I'm not trying to limit the number of rows on a repeating table.

    What I do :
    1. Launch InfoPath, and then choose Design A Form from the File menu.
    2. In the Design A Form task pane, click New From Data Connection.
    3. In the Data Connection Wizard, select Database, and then click Next.
    4. Click Select Database, locate and select Northwind.mdb, and then click Open.
    5. In the Select Table dialog box, select the Customers table, and then click Finish.
    6. Click Modify Table, Uncheck the "allow multiple ...", and then click Finish. [at this step, I uncheck the "Allow multiple..." so the table is not a repeating table"]
    7. Click Next, and then click Finish.
    8. go to menu Tools > Data Connections, click Main connection and then click modify.
    9. You'll see, the table had change to a repeating table, click modify table and you'll see that the "Allow multiple ..." is Checked.

    Is this a bugs?

    thanks

Hm, this is starting to sound like a bug. Thanks for the steps for reproduction, I'll try to look into it a little more.

Are you just trying to determine if this is a bug or do you have some application in your form? If you are trying to only display the first record returned from the database try putting your IP controls in a layout table instead of a repeating table.
