Hi,

Yesterday I was working on my form I publish it and now my project is impossible to open it!

My publish form can be open for fill out but if you try to go on design mode (he is not protected) same error:

Infopath has encountered an error. The operation failed.

So I want to thanks infopath I have all my work of yesterday to make one more time! It's very pleasant!

I don't have make big ochange on my form only little things everywhere but I have close my form every hour for compilate.

Anybody want a copy of the form? Anybody has the microsoft mail where I can send my form for know why he has encountered an error?

Any idea about what can be the error?

I hope you have a backup copy that you can run a comparison against your recent changes.

Barring that, my experiene with this error seems to usually come from something being wrong in the manifest.xsf file. As for what that could be I cannot tell you.

Comparing against a previous version is all I can suggest to do. We try to always keep a ZIP backup of our work at significant stages or each night. That way we can go back to each version as necessary and can compare our changes to a previous version to make sure something bad didn't happen in the interrum.

Of course I have one save! but no difference in the manifest! only a little in the schema it's probably that!

I have modify and now that work great!

I am getting this error, too! Virgul, what was it that got corrupted in the schema?

I only made a few small changes to a view between saves and I'm getting this error.

Hopefully this will keep someone from pull their hair out in the future...

This error occured to me because of a namespace issue. I had a form that had been developed originally on a previous version of InfoPath. I was creating a new view that would be heavily based off of a view that was already created. Therefore I figured that I would copy and paste everything from the original view into the new view I had created and just edit it from there. After this, I established a connection to a new web service and inserted a repeating table that referenced data from the webservice. InfoPath assumed the namespace of the web service would be established in a handle of "tns", whereas the original version of the form put the namespace in a handle called "s0". After opening the XSL file directly and adding a reference to the namespace under "tns" as well as "s0", everything worked fine.
