    Submitting entire XML form and data to webservice

    Hi,

    I found this site as a very useful related to infopath and webservice.
    So that's why i join in order to help other to share my ideas and update my knowledge too.

    This is my question for today.
    My main target is to submit all XML data(all field in the form) as well as Form1.xml(file) to webservice. Does any body got any ideas how should I proceed in infopath as well as in webservice method?

    I know that in infopath there are two methods to submit form.
    1) by parameters.
    2) by xml entire form.

    I tried (1) but i have to send file also sooo.. i thought about (2)
    But i don't know how to consume that in webservice. For (1) i had define webmethod as

    --> Public Function MyMethod(Byval strFName)

    but for (2) i donot know how to define method in webservice so that i can receive xml data as well as xml file.

    Any help or sample of webservice method would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    SparkleWeb

    Hi SparkleWeb and welcome to our forum!
    You can install the free evaluation version of Database Accelerator for a quick and easy way to setup database connectivity:http://www.infopathdev.com/downloads/trials/default.aspx?i=4c6d41c47f594c9baada1b40918a306f
    The package comes with a tool to config the mapping of your XML data to your SQL relational data. It also roundtrips the entire XML form for 100% fidelity. Check it out. We have lots of happy users of this product.

    Cheers!

    Thanks for your "DBA" suggestion, Patrick. That's not my requirement for now. It's not related to database connectivity either. After you get data and xml file ( or form image file if possible) in webservice...there is no problem to connect databsase via webservice.

    WebMethod()>
    Public Function SubmitData(ByVal ds As DataSet) As DataSet
    Dim i As Integer
    Dim LIntid As Integer
    Dim dsUpdated As New DataSet
    Dim Cnx As New SqlConnection("")
    Dim cmd As New SqlCommand
    cmd.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure
    Dim oTrans As SqlTransaction
    Try
    Cnx.Open()
    <work with you dataset>
    .
    .

    Hi,
    It all depends on what data you need from the InfoPath form.
    If you need to more than 5 fields of data then it is better of for you to submit the entire XML(if the XML file is not too big, if it is too big you might have slow submit).

    If you choose entire XML option then you can accept the XML as a string from webservice side.
