    Repeating Table Dropdown

I am trying to develop a form using a repeating table to be used for listing parts and their prices.

column one will be a dropdown that will list all the item codes.

When a code is selected from that list it will then populate the next column with that items price.

The user can then enter a quantity in the third column and the total will appear in the fourth column.

then to add another item the user can click the repeating table add item

I can get the list of codes to appear in first column but i can't figure out how to populate the second column with that code's price.

Does this have to be done in code?

ok figured out how to get the price into the second column and then do the calculations for the next two fields.

Problem now is that when I add another row and make a selection from the drop down box if updates the price in the first row and not the new row.

    any ideas?

The repeating table is probably bound to a group within your main datasource. When you look at the properties for that group, is the repeating checkbox checked?

it's probably the xpath filter when you are setting the values. There have been at least 10 posts on how to do this. You need to use the current() xpath function. Re: Repeating Table Dropdown

ok that works fine if i want the second column to be a drop-down but i want the second column to be just a plain text field that will populate with the price after you make a selection from the drop down in the first column. I can't seem to figure out how to do that. I've tried following the same steps for populating the drop down to populate the text box but it doesn't seem to work

    any suggestions would be great

    Re: Repeating Table Dropdown

I can live with a drop down box for the price.

    A bigger problem now.
Once i've finished the form and i publish it then try and open this form is says a new form cannot be opened and it says it can't create a dataobject and it can't connect to the database.

do i have to have the database in the same location as the form template?

here is the details on the error i get:

The following DataObject either cannot be created or cannot be initialized: products
The query cannot be run for the following DataObject: products
InfoPath cannot run the specified query.
InfoPath cannot connect to the data source.
Safety settings on this computer prohibit accessing a data source on another domain.

    why is this happening?

Because you are running cross-domain which is only supported for full-trust solutions?

If i make an mdb database a resource file will it then be attached to the xsn where ever it gets published?

Is it possible to make a data connection to that resource file? Any examples would be great

or would i have to make the data connection first and then make the db a resource file?

    Hi Drobins,
If your path is a network path and is available to all users in the network then you can can take dataconnection to that file.

Yeah the forum thinks that the period at the end of the sentence should be used in the URL. Try this:
